If you're an NRA-certified firearms instructor, you were taught during your certification training that every instructor should manage the special risks of training students around guns. In fact, the NRA curriculum specifically recommends each instructor register an LLC and obtain liability insurance. Unfortunately, few firearms instructors organize those protections for themselves. Even if you work as an independent contractor for someone else's LLC, you should still have your own protection in place.
